Holy Week 2018 Worship and Activity Schedule

Information For Guests

Palm Sunday Services of Worship take place at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 25th (Service of Confession and Forgiveness). A professionally staffed nursery and Children’s Church activities are available.

An Easter Egg Hunt for children aged Pre-K through Grade 6 will start at 9:45 a.m. in the Foyer of the Parish Hall.  If the weather is inclement, the hunt will take place indoors.   Messiah youth are encouraged to participate and assist with the event.  POC Sonja Pederson.  At the conclusion of the event, children will go to Sunday School.

Holy Week continues with a modified schedule on Wednesday, March 28. Please note that there is no Confirmation classes,  Lenten Soup Supper, or children’s music this night, though Notabella, Instrumental Ensemble, and the Adult Choir will still rehearse (see the church calendar for details).

Maundy Thursday Services (with Lord’s Supper) will take place at Noon and 7:00 p.m. on March 29th.

Good Friday Services (Tenebrae Sevices of Darkness) will take place at Noon and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30th.

Resurrection of our Lord Sunday / Easter Sunday is Sunday, April 1st

Services of Worship (Lutheran Book of Worship – Setting Two with Lord’s Supper) will take place at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.  Professional Nursery available.  Parents of small children may utilize the special “Easter Edition” busy bags available in the Narthex.  

  • Be sure to place a flower on the Resurrection Cross and take a family picture as you enter or leave the church.  Members wanting to update their church directory photo can upload their photos on the simple church directory photo upload form.
  • Starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 10:30 a.m. Messiah’s Sr. Youth will be serving up an Easter Pancake Breakfast in the Parish Hall as a fundraiser for this summer’s ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston, TX.  Larry Ryan is the POC.  Youth, youth parents and members may sign up to help with the event here.
