Christian Education is where we learn the history, story, and theology of Christianity, and how to apply it to our lives.
It is where we learn, ask questions, have discussions, and challenge ourselves to think about our faith in new ways.

Confirmation
First Communion Instruction

Confirmation is a two-year program for 8th and 9th grade students that is held weekly through the school year. Confirmation at Messiah is about faith formation, not simply faith information. We focus on being the church, not teaching about the church. Our program includes learning events, fellowship events, service events, and worship events.
First Communion Instruction prepares children who have been baptized as babies for their next step in their Christian journey: Communion. Children learn the meaning, history, and significance of this sacrament in the Lutheran Church
Instruction occurs annually, and is usually in the early fall. It is offered for any youth age 7 (grade 2) or older who has yet to receive First Communion instruction.
Older youth or adults who would like a refresher are also welcome.

Youth Volunteer Screening
All Messiah Lutheran Church staff and volunteers who have regular contact with minor children attending Messiah ministries are required to complete the Youth Volunteer Agreement and complete a background check.
