Annual events
German Food Festival
Messiah Lutheran Church pays homage to the German roots of the Lutheran church with its annual German Food Festival.
Eat traditional German food, listen to German music, and let the kids play in the not-so-German bounce houses.
Free and open to the public.
Food and drinks are available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds from baked goods benefits Shepherds Fold, a reentry program for formerly incarcerated men in Alabama.

Hand Made Market
Messiah’s Mission Crafters (and other makers) sell their wares at the annual Handmade Market to support the Lunches for Learning Mission in Honduras.
A one-day event, the Handmade Market offers handcrafted jewelry, apparel, decor, food items, jewelry, and more.
All items are donated to the sale by members of Messiah Lutheran Church to provide meals to food insecure elementary school students in Honduras.
If you are a local crafter who would like to support this sale by donating your handmade crafts, please call our office.

Quilt Sale
The talented quilters in Messiah’s Comforters group sew or crochet quilts, lap robes, and prayer shawls to bring comfort to those in need.
Most quilts are donated and distributed through Lutheran World Relief, to be used as warm bedding, simple tents, or floor coverings to those living in poverty.
A few quilts are held back to sell at our annual Quilt Sale.
The proceeds from that sale cover shipping costs for the donation, and supplies for our next set of quilts.

Dinner Theater
The talents of our actors, singers, set designers, and costumers are on full display during Messiah’s annual Dinner Theater performance.
A professional play or musical performance takes the stage while audience members enjoy an upscale meal prepared by church members.
The cost of tickets covers art licensing and a contribution to a local charity that rotates annually.
