Today was Messiah’s annual handmade market fundraiser. This event helps to raise funds for Lunches for Learning program. Messiah Lutheran Church has supported Lunches for Learning for many years. This organization helps to break the cycle of poverty in Honduras by providing school students with a simple but nutritious meal during each school day. Without this support, many of the students would drop out of school by the third grade. Messiah has adopted the Benito Montoya School and has visited with our adopted school many times.
Each year, talented artists and craftspeople donate a large variety of crafts and handmade wares to support the event. We give special thanks to each of the artists, the event volunteers and members of the community who came out to support the event. With your support, we are helping to bring hope to Honduras one lunch at a time.
