The first annual Outrun Hunger 5K to support the House of the Harvest food pantry raised over $6,800 on Saturday, May 14th. The runners ran a “long way” and the proceeds will go a “long way!” Congratulations to our runners Walter Seitz, Andrew Seitz, Drake Meyer, and Jim Daniel. Drake placed 20th overall and Jim placed 3rd overall!
Shout outs to Messiah’s youth group, Cub Scout Pack 351, and Thrivent Financial for teaming up with Messiah’s Outreach Committee to provide the water, gatorade, 100 bananas, 50 apples, and 25 pizzas for all involved.
Credit also to member Taylor Burton who designed the logo for the event! The logo is shown below being signed by Holden Ruff, son of Council Outreach Representative Jay Ruff who also participated.
The event was coordinated and sponsored by many groups in our community who care about one another. It was a blessing to work together (and to have my photo taken with NFL Hall of Fame’s Walter Jones).
